چکیده

A theoretical model of a surface electrode reaction coupled with a preceding chemical reaction (surface CE electrode mechanism) is theoretically studied under conditions of square-wave voltammetry. The position and the shape of the theoretical voltammograms are function of the redox kinetic parameter k 1⁄4 ks f where ks is the standard electron exchange rate constant and f is the frequency of the potential modulation, chemical kinetic parameter z 1⁄4 kfþkb f , where kf and kb are the forward and backward rate constants of the preceding chemical reaction, respectively, and the equilibrium constant of the chemical reaction K. The influence of all these parameters to the theoretical square-wave voltammograms is investigated in detail. A theoretical methodology for estimation of the kinetic and thermodynamic parameters of the electrode mechanism is proposed. 2005 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

Multistep Surface Electrode Mechanism Coupled with Preceding Chemical Reaction-Theoretical Analysis in Square-Wave Voltammetry

In this theoretical work, we present for the first time voltammetric results of a surface multistep electron transfer mechanism that is associated with a preceding chemical reaction that is linked to the first electron transfer step. The mathematical model of this so-called “surface CEE mechanism” is solved under conditions of square-wave voltammetry. We present relevant set of results portrayi...

Determination of Riboflavin by Nanocomposite Modified Carbon Paste Electrode in Biological Fluids Using Fast Fourier Transform Square Wave Voltammetry

Herein, fast Fourier transformation square-wave voltammetry (FFT-SWV) as a novel electrochemical determination technique was used to investigate the electrochemical behavior and determination of Riboflavin at the surface of a nanocomposite modified carbon paste electrode. The carbon paste electrode was modified by nanocomposite containing Samarium oxide (Sm2O3)/reduced gra...

Surface Catalytic Mechanism in Square-Wave Voltammetry

A pseudo-first-order catalytic mechanism in which both reactant and product of the redox reaction are strongly immobilized on the electrode surface is theoretically analyzed under conditions of square-wave voltammetry (SWV). A mathematical procedure is developed for diffusionless conditions. The relationships between the properties of the voltammetric response and both the kinetic parameters of...

Determination of Nicotinic Acid by Square Wave Voltammetry on a Carbon Paste Electrode: the Crucial Effect of Electrode Composition and Analytical Conditions

The foregone studies have shown that nicotinic acid cannot produce noticeable reductive signal at carbon-based electrodes without appropriate modification of the electrode. This is an obvious reason that mercury is known as the main electrode material for electro-reduction of nicotinic acid. In this study, it has been shown that it is possible to create a remarkable reduction signal for NA at a...

Voltammetric Determination of Penicillamine Using a Carbon Paste Electrode Modified with Multiwall Carbon Nanotubes In the Presence of Methyldopa as a Mediator

A multiwall carbon nanotubes-modified carbon paste electrode (MWCNTs/MCPE) wasfabricated and used to study the electrooxidation of penicillamine (PA) by electrochemicalmethods in the presence of methyldopa (MDOP) as a homogeneous mediator. Theelectrochemical oxidation of PA on the new sensor has been carefully studied. The kineticparameters such as electron transfer coefficient, α, and catalyti...
